Ministry to Religious and Lay Women
Introduction
Bishop Murphy delivered this address to the Diocesan Convention of the Council of Catholic Women of Eastern Montana. Working with and serving alongside lay and religious women was one of the most meaningful aspects of his ministry. He expressed the following thought in his opening remarks, “I am also extremely happy to be here this evening because my own understanding and vision of the Church in our diocese demands the involvement, cooperation and help of women of our diocese, lay and religious, whose competence and leadership potential needs to be recognized, actualized and implemented.”
