An open letter to President Clinton

Archbishop Murphy’s weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column is an open letter from all the people of the Church of Western Washington to President Clinton on Inauguration Day in 1992. The archbishop draws the president’s attention to a number of critical issues including the gift of life, healthcare, jobs, welfare, the environment, education and foreign policy. “I readily admit that the agenda I suggest you consider is indeed challenging,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Yet, I believe my concerns are the concerns of countless others in this wonderful nation where we live.”
