The Ministry of Teaching
Archbishop Murphy celebrates the ministry of teaching in his weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column. He describes teaching as a ministry a bishop shares with the laity, religious and ordained clergy of a diocese. Success only comes through collaboration. Parishes play a central role as Catholic education in the archbishopÂ’s view is a lifetime experience. “It is so easy to compromise today, to offer the quick solution to a difficult problem,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Yet, the ministry of teaching demands fidelity to our identity as members of the Roman Catholic faith community.”
