First Celebration of Eucharist

Archbishop Murphy delivered this homily at the Mass held to commemorate the First Eucharist celebrated at St. Michael’s West Side Satellite Faith Community in Olympia, WA. The theme of his homily is “new beginnings.” In his view, new beginnings offer the opportunity to realize how who we are and what we do now will shape who we will be and what we will do in the years ahead. He concluded with the following wish, “May you have the courage to be a community of faith that will enable you to be disciples of Jesus in today’s world with a willingness to be people who make a difference.
