Closing Celebration of the Marian Year

Mary’s response “Yes” to God is the subject of Archbishop Murphy’s homily offered at the Mass held at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA to mark the closing of the Marian Year of Celebration declared by Pope John Paul II. Archbishop Murphy calls upon all members of the Christian community to express that same willingness as Mary did to say, “Yes.” “Our vocation is to cooperate in the mystery of the redemption by bringing Christ to birth within our lives,” said Archbishop Murphy. “What Mary is, we are destined to be.”
