In his homily at the Mass for the Handicapped Community in St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA, Archbishop Murphy prays for all of the handicapped and those who care for them. He calls on the entire Christian community to discover the presence of the Lord in all human beings challenged by a physical or mental disability. “A Christian community is one that is willing to share its gifts with others and to be open to receive gifts from those whom we serve,” said the archbishop. “May that experience in Christian ministry be ours as we give to and receive from the disabled and handicapped among us.”
