Why Bother to Believe?

“Why bother to believe in God and religion?” Archbishop Murphy used this question as the basis for his address to a gathering of University of Washington students at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Seattle, WA. His answer was simple and direct: young people have no other choice if they want to discover meaning and purpose in their lives. He offered the following thought in conclusion, “There is a need to encourage young adults to take the risk of believing in themselves as well as the gracious God who shares life with us, and to believe in the gift which this God offers us which is Jesus”
