Introduction of Tempus Program for the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings

Bishop Murphy used this address to roll out the Tempus Program to the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings, MT. The Tempus Program is a formal two-year educational track seeking to provide all lay ministers with opportunities for spiritual growth and development. He strongly supported the ever expanding role of the laity in the church as called for by the principal documents of Vatican II. Bishop Murphy defined lay ministry as “the practical response to an understanding of who we are as baptized and confirmed people who have the responsibility to build up the Body of Christ by sharing our gifts with the Christian community.”
