Priestly Formation

In his address on priestly formation to the Serra Midwest Regional Conference at Notre Dame University, Bishop Murphy identifies the fundamental goal of this process by saying, “Priestly formation must form true pastors of the People of God after the model of our Lord Jesus Christ, teacher, priest and shepherd.” In his view, “Yet at the heart of priestly formation today is the call to grow as a man of faith, a man of prayer, a man who is able to lead others in prayer and worship.”
