Role of the Laity in the Mass

Bishop Murphy in his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column offers his perspective on the critical roles members of the laity fulfill in all facets of the church’s mission. He states, “Lay people in our parishes are asked to be involved in the life of the Church. The Church exists not only in its liturgical celebrations, but it exists in the world. Lay involvement spans the ministries of liturgy to the ministries of a concern for social and political issues of our day.”
