The Meaning of All Saints Day and All Souls Day

Bishop Murphy in his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column explains the significance of the feasts of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. He expresses the following poignant thought about his parents, “For myself, the feast of All Souls is a time to remember my parents in special way. If my Dad were alive here on earth now, he would be in his nineties, but he would project a love of life and people that would be unequalled. And my mother would be running from one group of people to another wondering what she could serve them or do for them. For two people who came from Ireland at the beginning of this century with a dream of a new life, I know for myself, my brother, and sister, they really shared that dream in an incredible way by sharing life, love, and especially faith.”
