Catholic Fund Celebration

Compassion is the central theme of Archbishop Murphy’s homily at a Mass celebrated for the members of the Catholic Fund of the Archdiocese of Seattle. He invokes Christ’s Words that tell us the degree to which we have loved others and been compassionate towards strangers and even enemies, the same love and compassion will be given to us. “Compassion is more than sympathy, for sympathy allows us to be passive people aware of the pain and struggles of other,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Compassion calls us to action.”
