Easter: There’s more there than meets the eye

The empty tomb is the visual image Archbishop Murphy uses to frame his comments on Easter in his weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column. He reminds us that the phrase “there’s always more than meets the eye” lies at the heart of Christian spirituality. “I can be challenged to see God’s presence and life right in front of me, and there is so much that blinds me,” said Archbishop Murphy. “And, then, there are those times when I ask for faith to see more than meets the eye. It is a risk, but it can make all the difference.” In his view, spirituality enables all people to see and recognize God.
