Sisters of Providence 150th Anniversary Celebration

Archbishop Murphy presided at the 150th Anniversary Celebration Mass for the Sisters of Providence at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA. In looking back at the last one and a half centuries, he marvels at the many real and tangible contributions this order of religious women has made to our country and the world. “For 150 years, this mission and ministry has continued as the Sisters of Providence live out a compassionate love and a creative prophetic solidarity with the poor,” said Archbishop Murphy. “The driving force behind this mission and ministry would be the love of Christ.”
