Rite of Election – 1993

Archbishop Murphy in his homily at the Rite of Election Mass calls on all present in the congregation to receive a new heart and open their ears to the Good News. This evening’s Scripture tells us that God will give people a new heart and a new spirit if they recognize his goodness and graciousness. “A new heart and spirit link us to the heart and spirit of God and that is why we rejoice this evening as we walk with the catachumens and candidates in their discovery of God’s heart and spirit through the Catholic faith,” said Archbishop Murphy.
