Christmas Mass During the Day

Archbishop Murphy begins his homily on Christmas Day in St. James Cathedral by declaring, “We celebrate the receipt of God’s Word.” The challenge of Christmas is to recognize this reality. Hearing God’s Word empowers us to believe Christ was born and lived among us. Everything changes for us as disciples when we hear God’s Word. “But my friends, we cannot share the Word with others unless we allow that Word to saturate and impact our lives,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Christmas means the giving of our Word, which is the giving of ourselves.”
