Turning 60

Archbishop Murphy offers reflections on celebrating his 60th birthday in his weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column. He discusses his ministry, the church and the importance of family and friends. The archbishop marvels at how technological advancement is changing the world in which we live so dramatically. “I especially give thanks to God for the ministry I share as priest and bishop,” said Archbishop Murphy. “I never dreamed that a response to a vocation to be a parish priest would take me on such a unique journey from Chicago to Montana to Western Washington.”
