The Olympics – an event to watch or learn from

“Once again, the Olympics raise the question for me of how do we as a community of faith communicate to young people, as well as to people of all ages, the exciting and challenging opportunity we have to live the Christian life,” so began Archbishop Murphy’s weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column. He invokes the words of St. Paul “to run the good race.” The archbishop describes the challenge of being faithful to the Gospel and our faith traditions as a radical response to life – and yet doing so can be life giving and energizing.
