Catholic health care ministry a gift we cant afford to lose
In his weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column, Archbishop Murphy offers his thoughts on the essential gift of Catholic healthcare. He characterizes this ministry as one sharing many traits with Jesus Christ’s outreach on earth – expressing compassion for the less fortunate and healing the sick. The archbishop articulates a number of fundamental challenges facing Catholic hospitals. In his view, if we are not careful, if we fail to come together and support Catholic healthcare ministry, it is a gift we could lose.
