Do we dare to meet the real needs of the Church?

The urgent need for vocations to the priesthood is the subject of Archbishop Murphy’s weekly Catholic Northwest Progress “In Joy and Hope” column. He describes how the shortage of priests is impairing the archdiocese’s ability to deliver quality pastoral ministry – to celebrate the Eucharist and be present to people at significant moments in their lives. The archbishop calls on all people to get engaged and play an active role in increasing vocations to the priesthood. “The church believes there are present among us potential quality candidates for priesthood if we dare to invite them,” said Archbishop Murphy.
