Celebration of Welcome as Archbishop of Seattle

In his homily at the Mass of Welcome in St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA, Archbishop Murphy shares the main points of emphasis of his ministry as the spiritual leader of the Church of Western Washington. The archbishop describes his ministry as one that will emphasize a generosity of mind and spirit, collaboration between lay, religious and ordained clergy, the Eucharist and a deep commitment to serving the poor. He offered the following thought in conclusion, “Thank you for who you are, what you have been, and what we can hopefully be together – a community of God’s people committed to gratitude, faith and service.”
