Conference for Separated, Divorced, Widowed and Remarried Catholics

Archbishop Murphy discussed the importance of relationships in his homily at a Mass celebrated in conjunction with a conference for separated, divorced, widowed and remarried Catholics at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. He began his sermon by stating, “If there is one experience which is critical to all of us as human beings, it is our experience of relationships to one another.” The archbishop described our relationship to God as one that carries the invitation to walk with Jesus in fidelity to the Gospel – on His terms not our own. “Relationships are an invitation to reconciliation,” said Archbishop Murphy. “May our relationship to God help us to be reconciled to God and to one another.
