Celebration with Neophytes

Archbishop Murphy celebrated a Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Mount Vernon, WA for those adults who recently entered the church at Easter Vigil. In his homily, he praised all neophytes for their willingness to serve as disciples of Jesus Christ at a time when such a commitment runs counter to the current values of American society. “May the weeks and months and years ahead only be a time when we together continue to take the risk of being disciples of Jesus, despite the cost,” said Archbishop Murphy. “May we hear again and again the words spoken at the tomb on Easter morning, ‘Do not be afraid!'”
