Celebration of Confirmation with the Korean Community

May 29, 1988

Archbishop Murphy presided at a confirmation ceremony and Mass for the Korean Community of Seattle. The main thrust of his homily was Jesus Christ’s last words to the disciples prior to ascending into heaven, “I will always be with you.” He declares all Christians are born with a spirit – a source of power, knowledge, faith, courage and hope. “Each of us received the Gift of the Spirit on the day of our Baptism, but today, those to be confirmed will receive the Spirit in a new and more powerful way,” said Archbishop Murphy. “The gift of the Spirit will be shared with us to help us be faithful disciples of Jesus.”
