Ministry of Reader

Archbishop Murphy presided at a Mass to celebrate the Ministry of the Reader. In his homily, he challenged all current and prospective readers of Scripture to not only proclaim the written word but also live it. The archbishop expressed his vision of the ministry of the reader by stating, “As ministers of the word, you speak not on your own, but on behalf of a God who calls you and a Church which affirms that call.”
