Priest Penance Service

Archbishop Murphy, in his homily delivered at the Priest Penance Service at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA, calls on all present to view the sacrament of reconciliation in the context of their relationships – with God, family, friends and others. He describes reconciliation as the force prompting all Christians to acknowledge their failings and seek forgiveness from the Lord. The archbishop said, “For reconciliation to be truly effective, it must come alive in the commitment we make and the lives we live which point us toward the reality of who we are and what we are about – and that is the Lord!”
