Easter Sunday at St. Ann’s Cathedral

March 30, 1986

In his Easter homily delivered at St. Ann’s Cathedral in Great Falls, MT, Bishop Murphy challenges the entire Christian community to place their faith in Jesus – in his triumph over sin and death. He uses the image of the empty tomb to illustrate the importance of faith. The bishop says, “Easter is the great feast of faith. We too are asked to look into the empty tomb – and in discovering nothing, we are asked to discover everything.” He concludes by stating, “But because Jesus is not in the tomb, then the Lord must be where He is able to give meaning and purpose to human existence.”
