New Life For Parish Communities

The parish community and the need for the creation and operation of Finance and Pastoral Councils is the subject of Bishop Murphy’s “Reflections” column for the November 1995 edition of The Harvest. He viewed the parish community as one of the essential structures to assist the church in making her mission a reality. In his view, “The presence of such structures within parishes whereby laity share their gifts and expertise helps the parish to be a true Christian community.”
