Ordination to the Priesthood – Michael Ley and Philip Ley

Bishop Murphy delivered this homily at the ordination to the priesthood of Philip Ley and Michael Ley at St. Jude’s Church in Fort Wayne, IN. In his concluding remarks, he says, “An ordination ritual is a powerful sacred moment. Yet, as all sacraments, ordination recognizes the human an natural realities which provide the ‘sign’ of God’s sacred action. That sign is more than the imposition of hands or the prayer of consecration. It is the human reality of parents, family and friends who have offered their gifts of support, prayer and encouragement to make this sacrament a reality this evening.”
