Can Catholics be Evangelicals?

Bishop Murphy begins his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column by asking, “Can Catholics be Evangelicals?” The bishop answers with an emphatic yes and a word of caution. He says, “Moreover, evangelization may appeal to the emotional makeup of human beings today as a basis for a spirituality, but Catholic evangelization must be rooted in a knowledge of our faith tradition. Evangelization must be built on education. Otherwise, I believe we build the proverbial house on sand.”
