A Journey of Hope in Ministry

Bishop Murphy delivered this address to the 1984 Tekawitha Conference in Phoenix, AZ. The central focus of his remarks was on ministry – the service we offer, share and receive in the name of Jesus Christ. He offered the following observation, “A vision of ministry in the Church today becomes a reality when we have the faith and courage to let go, to see the priorities of Jesus and the Church today not on our terms, but on the terms of a Gospel and the Church which calls us to ministry through baptism.”
