Evening on Ministry

Bishop Murphy offers a comprehensive overview of lay ministry in this address to the parishioners of St. Luke’s Parish in Great Falls, MT. He cites the Second Vatican Council as the source for the rapid growth of lay ministry in the Catholic Church today. In his view, “When we share ministry in the Christian community, we are in the presence of ‘the holy.’ We are asked to be conscious of the fact that any ministry we do and share is not our ministry, but God’s. And so we stand on holy ground, because we share with others the presence of the Lord.”
