Is there a shortage of priests?

In his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column, Bishop Murphy offers a number of ideas to address the shortage of priests in the diocese. He concludes by saying, “Is there a shortage of priests? The answer is YES! Is this a crisis? The answer to that question depends on the response we give by either sitting back and doing nothing or responding to the challenge and through prayer and sacrifice to pray for and encourage vocations to the priesthood as well as to call each baptized person to fulfill his or her ministry in the Church today.”
