Pastoral Planning and the Church of Tomorrow

Bishop Murphy delivered this address to the National Pastoral Planning Conference in Seattle, WA. He expresses his strong advocacy for meaningful and forward looking pastoral planning and the fundamental benefits it can create. From his perspective, “Planning is essential to the Church as it is essential to all human activity. The future might well be accepted by some as an inevitable series of events over which we have no control; but I believe a Christian perspective demands that we plan in order to create and shape a future.”
