Needs and Issues of Ministers – Ordained and Non-Ordained

Bishop Murphy delivered this address to the Advisory Board of St. John’s School of Theology in Collegeville, MN. He offered series of insights and observations on the key skills and abilities one must possess to be an effective church minister – lay or ordained. In his view, quality ministry demands one or more of the following characteristics: presence, listening, translation, prayer and transparent faith.
