Thoughts on a Valentine’s Day

Bishop Murphy in his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column sheds light on the history and meaning of the life of St. Valentine. He urges all Catholics to take the time to appreciate the rich symbolism that is uniquely ours. In closing, he offers the following call to action, “It is time I believe to resurrect St. Valentine from the heart shaped boxes, the laced cards, and the sentimental greetings and see him for what he is – a person of faith who loved with all his heart. In fact, he loved so much he gave up his life for Christ!”
