Spirituality for Vincentians Today

Bishop Murphy delivered this address to the Board of Directors of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Chicago, IL in January of 1982. The focus of his remarks is on the four characteristics of Vincentian spirituality. He says, “My own reflection on Vincentian spirituality is a response to the Lord’s invitation to discover his presence where we least expect him, to find him among the poor and the hungry, the outcast and the tragic lives of people who live among us today.”
