Reflections on Ministry and the Native Americans

In his address to the 40th Annual Tekawitha Conference, Bishop Murphy describes how the Catholic Church and the Native American community share many common core beliefs and convictions. He says, “The most fundamental notion of Christian ministry coincides with the lifestyle and thrust of the Native American tradition – service. Service and care for one another through the strong bonds of family and tribal relationships.”
