The Assignment of Priests – Shortage of Priests

Bishop Murphy in his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column describes the dual challenges of assigning priests and the shortage of priests to address the needs of the Diocese of Great Falls, MT. He offers a very innovative idea, “I believe that the present personnel situation in our own Diocese as well as in many parts of the Church today could well be the challenge from God to seek and discover ways in which religious men and women who are not ordained, as well as laymen and laywomen, might be able to serve the Church as ministers of the Gospel.”
