Replanting Lives Program – the essence of the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church

Actions speak louder than words. This quote so aptly describes Archbishop Murphy’s ministry. The archbishop developed the Replanting Lives Program. Its mission was simple but powerful – to extend a helping hand to individuals and families in the struggling timber communities on the western edge of the Archdiocese of Seattle. He sensed that there was a true and compelling need to step in and provide direct assistance to those in need. Replanting Lives issued more than $650,000 in grants and low interest loans through the Catholic Fund to foster new business development and provide emergency assistance.
